Children's Ministries

What's the big deal?

Children are important to Jesus (Matthew 19:14); therefore, children are important to us here at First Bapitst. The spiritual interests and physical safety of our children are always a top priority. First Baptist Church seeks to provide an environment that is both physically safe and secure and one that is spiritually accountable.

What is the goal?

The First Baptist Church Children's Ministry exists to exalt Jesus Christ by assisting parents in building a strong spiritual foundation in the lives of their children. Our desire is to see each child enter into a personal, growing, life-long relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We understand that this can only be accomplished in God's timing and through the power of the Holy Spirit as He uses the Word of God.

The Children's Ministry of First Baptist Church is a child-targeted ministry that values teaching solid Biblical truth through creative excellence, while remaining relevant to a child's level of understanding and developmental appropriateness. Our ministry tasks are accomplished by a competent, engaging, well-equipped staff that sacrifice to promote Jesus both in example and word.

What programs are offered?

Our ministry to children includes Sunday School (9:15 am), Children's Church (10:30 am), AWANA (during the school year on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm), Children's Club (during the summer at 7:00 pm), Children's Choir (at various times throughout the year), Vacation Bible School, and a variety of other activities aimed at fueling a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ.

Children's Choir

We give our first through sixth graders an opportunity to be involved in the music ministry through our Children's Choirs. We meet weekly to learn about how we can glorify our God through music. The students are exposed to the chances they have to serve God in the church through music; our primary goal is to teach them spiritual truths using music. What is "learned through song is remembered long!" The secondary goals are music literacy and learning good vocal technique that they may apply the things learned in the worship service.

We enjoy working with these students. The group has been able to sing in our services, minister during our special events, and memorize some of our great hymns of the faith. The result has been a positive influence      toward growth in Christ for the sake of our Lord's name.
